this moves the needle 0, only thing he will bring is some grit, which the Sabres desperately need but to say he is skilled is false. 5 years ago, sure |

This will move the needle for sure GMJB !! Nice job. |

Love simmonds but hes been washed for 2 seasons now |

Like the enthusiasm Garth. Sincerely. Simmonds value is worth more than what the Sabres gave. Frolik needs to be sent to Rochester or traded for a late round pick. |

Boston can pick up Nick Ritchie and we get Wayne Simmonds...no wonder we blow year after year.....
maybe GMJB is preparing for the expansion draft.... |

I am kind of surprised that GMJB was not in on the Derek Grant deal....maybe he tossed his papers down when he missed out on it. |

Bruins gave up a bottom 9 current nhl player. We traded a late round pick. No comparison. |

sorry, but there is a comparison. we grabbed a over the hill player, when maybe we could have traded for a younger player with some upside for that pick and maybe one of our under achieving, over paid bottom 6. Build a solid core of players in their early and mid 20's that would be no worse than what we have...Its short sighted like we have been watching for years here with this team. |

Apologize accepted.? You young bucks crack me up. But your not wrong either. Short sighted? Not really. Eichel, Dahlin, Oloffson, Risto, Skinner, Joki, Montour, Mitts, Cozens, Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin, Bergeron, Marchand, Staals, Benn, Radulov, Kane, Toews, Wheeler, Backstrom, Pacioretty, Stasny, Guroux, Okposo, Simmonds are all between 30-35. Leafs are struggling with a captain under 30 full of a team who are concerned about padding stats.
Get us some Leaders to supplement our you players! Kane, Staal, Sid....etc

Insert period after Cozens. But I’m sure you could figure that out. |

Jack Eichel is smiling widely with news that Simmonds will protecting his new teammates and opening huge swaths of open ice for the skilled guys to create in.
Are you sure you mean Wayne Simmonds? Not sure who your thinking of but not the Wayne Simmonds who played in Nashville then NJ..
Wayne is good for a enforcer but do not expect him to be opening huge swaths of open ice.. |

Thanks for the young buck compliment, but I did attend opening night in October of 1970..Bringing in Simmonds does nothing to make this team better now or in the future and just because he is on the down side of his career does not make him a leader.

Ritchie is young and skilled, Simmonds is no longer either of these two things |

Well then, my apologies. But I disagree. Simmonds does make this team better. Drastically, no not really. Down side of his career? As a possible “baby boomer” I would presume that you would actually believe that 30 is not “over the the hill” |

Why in God’s name would Buffalo make this trade?🤣 - Cptmjl
Probably to entertain their fans with some late season, futile goonery.
Garth, do you still think the Sabres are going to jump over the Leafs and Panthers to claim the third Atl. Div. spot ? The recent Sheary/Kahun trade confirms it further. I suspect Rutherford doesn't make that trade if he thinks Kahun will be playing much this season (probably too badly concussed). I am not sure how good that Rodriguez guy is but the Sabres basically traded him for the rights to control Kahun's RFA contract. |
